CMSW WINTER BAND CONCERTS HAVE A LOT OF MEANING
THE CHASKA MIDDLE SCHOOL WEST BANDS PRESENTED THEIR WINTER BAND CONCERTS ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11 IN THE CHASKA MIDDLE SCHOOL WEST LARGE GYM.

THE 6TH GRADE BANDS STARTED THINGS OFF AT 5:30 P.M. WITH A VARIETY OF SONGS SUCH AS THE TRADITIONAL MARCH “GALLANT MARCH”, THE FUN “AFRICAN DANCE SONG”, A FANFARE AND A COUPLE MOVIE THEMES.

THE 7TH GRADE BANDS TOOK TO THE “STAGE” AT 7:15 P.M. WITH A PATRIOTIC-THEMED PERFORMANCE.  THE BAND SALUTED OUR MILITARY AND HONORED THE COUNTRY WE LIVE IN WITH A COMBINATION OF PATRIOTIC FAVORITES AND AMERICAN-BORN POPULAR SONGS INCLUDING “SING SING SING” AND “R.O.C.K. IN THE USA”. THE LATTER ORIGINALLY BY THE 80S AND 90S ROCK STAR JOHN (COUGAR) MELLENCAMP. AND PLEASE DON’T ASK FOR AN ENCORE OF “JACK AND DIANE” :)

FINALLY, THE 8TH GRADE BANDS PLAYED A CONCERT THAT HAD A THEME OF KINDNESS AND COURAGE. STUDENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO AN ACT OF KINDNESS FOR OTHER STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL AS PART OF THIS CONCERT. WE ALSO HONORED JENNA PASCHKE WHO WAS A MEMBER OF OUR BAND FOR TWO-PLUS YEAR BEFORE PASSING AWAY IN SEPTEMBER. WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU JENNA!
