VETERAN’S DAY CELEBRATION WAS MOVING AS ALWAYS
EVERY YEAR, CHASKA MIDDLE SCHOOL WEST HOSTS ONE OF THE BEST SCHOOL-RUN VETERAN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS YOU WILL EVER SEE. THIS YEAR WAS NO DIFFERENT WHEN HUNDREDS OF STUDENTS, STAFF, VETERANS AND DIGNITARIES GATHERED ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12 AT CMSW.

THE EVENT STARTED OUTSIDE BY THE FLAGPOLE AS MEMBERS OF THE VFW PRESENTED THE COLORS WITH THE HELP OF 8TH GRADE TRUMPET PLAYERS JON BLUNT AND HANNA CLEVE AS THEY PLAYED “TAPS”. THE ENTIRE STUDENT BODY WATCHED BEFORE MAKING THEIR WAY INTO THE GYM.

INSIDE THE GYM, VETERANS, THE STUDENT BODY AND GUESTS WERE TREATED TO STUDENT SPEAKERS, WORDS FROM VETERANS, MUSIC PERFORMED BY THE 7TH GRADE BAND, MULTIPLE CHOIRS AND THE 7TH/8TH GRADE ORCHESTRA.

AFTER THE HOUR-LONG ASSEMBLY, A FEW VETERANS SPENT THE REST OF THE MORNING SPEAKING TO STUDENTS AND STAFF IN CLASSROOMS AND VIA THE SCHOOL MORNING SHOW.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL STUDENT PERFORMERS, STAFF ORGANIZERS AND THANK YOU TO ALL THE VETERANS WHO ATTENDED AND FOR ALL YOU’VE DONE. YOU ARE OUR HEROES.
