NEW EVENT IS DEBUT PERFORMANCE FOR GARAGE BANDS
FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS THE GARAGE BAND PROGRAM HAS DONE A COLLABORATIVE CONCERT AS A FUNDRAISER FOR TOYS FOR TOTS FOR ITS DEBUT PERFORMANCE.  THIS YEAR FEATURED THE SAME BENEFIT BUT IN A DIFFERENT FORMAT AND IN A DIFFERENT VENUE.

THE CONCERT TITLED ROCKIN’ THE SUBURBS WAS A COLLABORATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN THE PERFORMING INSTITUTE OF MINNESOTA (PIM) ARTS HIGH SCHOOL AND SONGERSTUDIO.  IT TOOK PLACE AT PIM ARTS HIGH SCHOOL LOCATED AT 7255 FLYING CLOUD DRIVE IN EDEN PRAIRIE ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 9 AT 6 P.M.  

THE EVENT FEATURED THE THREE MIDDLE SCHOOL GARAGE BANDS FROM DISTRICT 112.  AND INCLUDED THE NEW HIGH SCHOOL GARAGE BAND PROGRAM RUN BY KRIS STAUFFER.  THERE ARE TWO HIGH SCHOOL GARAGE BANDS WHICH MADE THEIR DEBUT PERFORMANCE ON THIS CONCERT.

JOINING THE FIVE GARAGE BANDS WAS A JAZZ COMBO FROM PIM AS WELL AS STUDENT ACTORS UNDER THE DIRECTION OF THE WONDERFULLY TALENTED WILLIAM T. LEAF.  

PIM HIGH SCHOOL AND SONGERSTUDIO HAVE A STRONG BELIEF IN OFFERING POPULAR MUSIC CLASSES AND ENSEMBLES AS PART OF A MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM.

IN ADDITION TO THE PERFORMANCE, THERE WAS A FREE-WILL OFFERINGS OF BRAND NEW TOYS FOR TOYS FOR TOTS. OVER TWO LARGE BOXES OF TOYS WERE COLLECTED.
